Annie Sloan Chalk Paint

I was amazed how quickly I could transform a lamp with
The color I used was Old White - Chalk Paint

{French script lampshade is from Wal-Mart}

Instead of sanding the lamp after the paint dried I decided to use a DRY paper towel. I wiped off areas where I did not want the paint to stick while it was still wet. Super easy if you don't want to sand yet you want the look.
I think it turned out fantastic!
I'm now a fan of chalk paint. Are YOU TOO?

I applied clear wax and just started to buff.
It was so easy to do.
I can't wait to start working on the other lamp.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!

The lamp looks great! I love that there is no need to prime, when using chalk paint. I've been lifting the brush up on the areas I used to sand so it's such a light coat that I don't even need to wipe it off. Aren't I lazy! ~ Maureen

I love it! And I think you just helped me decide what color to do my guest bedroom furniture. You just never know what you will find in Wal Mart - love the shade. xo

I love it! WalMart has some cute lamp shades. I have one I bought and no lamp for it yet. :) Haven't used the chalk paint yet. I really like the idea of using the dry paper towel rather than sanding.

I love painting lamps! Total makeover! I have the same lampshade from Wal-mart x2, love it. As for ASCP (waiting for the lightning to strike me now) I have not found it to be quite as amazing as it's cracked up to be. I actually just used some today, will be blogging about it soon. Be sure to stop by!

Dearest Dee,

That is at least a very fast and inexpensive way of transforming a lamp.

Never used chalk paint, it looks pretty good and not sanding is appealing. Cute lampshade, too.

What a transformation! I love it and that lampshade. I have been using ASCP for about a year and love it. I just painted a candlestick holder in ASCP Robin's Egg Blue for The Dedicated House's "Make it Pretty Monday."

Great job!

What a great idea to wipe it off before it dries! Yeah, sometimes the sanding gets to be so messy -- this is a really good alternative for getting the same look -- love the transformation!

Am I the last person on the planet to try chalk paint?! I feel so left out - may need to go buy some! Love that there's no priming!

Your lamp is so pretty now, painting it white and then aging it was exactly what it needed! The french script shade is perfect for it. So very pretty! Thanks for sharing your creative inspiration with Sunday’s Best – you helped make the party a success!
